This past bank holiday weekend I took an adventure along with some non-mer friends to the beautiful beach at Wells by the Sea in North Norfolk. We had a wonderful time soaking up the sun, chasing the tides and swimming in the sea, which was cold but not as cold as we were expecting! Of course we also took the opportunity to take some gorgeous mermaid photos. |
The reality of being English mermaids is that our ocean is rarely the clear warm azure blue of the lucky mermaids in the tropics - our seas and seashores are usually full of bits of sand stirred up by the currents, and rarely able to catch and reflect the glorious blue of the sky, which does like to hide a lot behind clouds here. But it's still the ocean, and we love it! We went shell-hunting, picking up many, many beautiful little shells to use in our future mermaid projects - much better to pick them yourself than import them through ebay! We found a dead crab too, but decided not to take that home with us. |
